Comal ISD Hires Chief of Human Resources

The Comal Independent School District has hired Dr. Randy D. Davis as its new Chief of Human Resources. He brings 34 years of experience in public education to the role, serving as a teacher, coach and principal. Most recently, he was assistant superintendent of human resources for Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD.

Cross Country State Champions, Qualifiers Honored

The state champion Smithson Valley High School girls cross country team along with state qualifiers from Canyon Lake and Davenport high schools were honored by the Comal ISD Board of Trustees for their outstanding season.

Two Comal ISD Students Named To All-State Jazz Band

Two Comal ISD students are among the best high school jazz musicians in the state, earning them a spot in the All-State Jazz Band. They will perform during the Texas Music Educators Association convention in February.

Smithson Valley Middle School Student Wins Comal Speaks Title

This year's Comal Speaks champion overcame her own fear of public speaking to 'persevere' in the middle school competition that challenges students to prepare and present speeches to a panel of judges on topics relating to important character traits.

Pieper High School Senior Caroline Peterson is this year's KENS 5 All-Star Athlete for Comal ISD. As a freshman, she made school history by winning its first state title and has continued to achieve in the classroom and in competition.
