Oct. 17, 2023 - A dozen Comal ISD student artists and an art teacher won awards for their entries in this year’s Comal County Arts and Photography contest.
In fact, five students received the Tri-Color or ‘Best of Category’ ribbon for their work.

- Reagan Anderson, Tri-Color ribbon in mixed media
- Savannah Cargill, from Canyon Lake High School, 1st place ribbon in sculpture
- Katelyn Huffman, from Canyon High School, Tri-Color ribbon in painting
- Kaitlyn Kasch, CLHS, 1st place ribbon in digital art
- Kevin Mendoza, CLHS, Tri-Color ribbon for sculpture
- Kaylee Nangle, Danville Middle School, 2nd place ribbon in sculpture
- Makinley Pomrenke, CLHS, 1st place ribbon in fiber arts
- Faith Reese, CLHS, 2nd place ribbon in drawing and grand champion for the Egg Growing Competition
- Randie Selzer, CLHS, Tri-Color ribbon in painting and 3rd place ribbon in sculpture

- Isabel Templeman, Davenport High School, Tri-Color ribbon for drawing
