Five Pieper Ranch Middle School students qualified to attend State SkillsUSA this coming April after placing at the SkillsUSA District competition last month.
SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry representatives who work together to ensure America has a skilled workforce, preparing students for careers in technical, skilled and service occupations. They offer programs including local, state and national competitions where students demonstrate their occupational and leadership skills.
Students Laeton Lopez, Kyra Nunns, Jessica Rodriguez and Cole Richmond all placed first on their woodshop projects. Landen Miseman and Cole Richmond placed first in Technical Information Testing for Construction Material Identification, and Kyra Nunns and Jessica Rodriguez took second. Kyra Nunns and Jessica Rodriguez also received a silver medal for the Construction Tool Identification section of testing, and Landen Miseman received bronze.
