Elementary Schools
Elementary Education
Comal ISD has 20 elementary campuses serving more than 11,800 students in grades Pre-K through fifth where the focus is on the growth of each child. Working in partnership with parents, elementary campuses focus on meeting the individual, academic and emotional needs of every child through research-based educational practices.
Extracurricular Opportunities
Elementary students are provided with a variety of opportunities to expand their learning and growth beyond the traditional classroom curriculum. Examples include the following programs:
- Art
- Music
- Physical Education
- Chess
- First Lego League Robotics
- Strings Program
- Intramural Sports
- After-School Community Education Programs
Parent Support Groups
Parental and community involvement is an integral part of the success of Comal ISD's elementary schools. Each elementary campus has an active PTA parent organization, which works throughout the year to see that every child is given the opportunity to succeed. Parents are encouraged to be part of their local parent support group and can contact their child's campus for more information about how to get involved.
Hallway Heroes
Parents, relatives and community members are encouraged to get involved at their child's campus by becoming a Hallway Hero. Hallway Heroes are volunteers who commit to spending a day on campus helping in the hallways, cafeteria and during recess. Our Hallway Heroes also help make our campuses safer by being an extra set of eyes and ears on site.
