The TEA has awarded Comal ISD as "Superior" in the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST).- Homeowners in Comal ISD receive an additional 20 percent optional homestead exemption in addition to the $40,000 state exemption.
- The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded Comal ISD with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for more than 10 years in a row. The most recent Certificate is posted here:
In addition to serving it's students, the Business Services Department is responsible for planning and preparing the District's Annual Budget and overseeing other financial areas such as Accounts Payable, Payroll, Purchasing, State and Federal Program Funds and Student Activity Funds.
Like any business, public schools have to manage their money wisely, and the Business Services Department allocates the district’s resources efficiently and effectively, by keeping in mind the district’s greatest assets – its more than 29,000 students.
