Celebrating academic merit, community service, excellence, perseverance and scholarships, this year's senior award nights looked a little different, but the sentiment was the same - pride. Collectively, the Comal ISD Class of 2020 was offered approximately $22.8 million in scholarships from local and national organizations, colleges, trade school and everything in between.

UPDATE: Meals will contain lunch and breakfast for the next day. On Thursday, parents will pick up Thursday lunch and a Meal Kit to include Friday, Saturday, Sunday breakfast and lunch and Monday breakfast.

The Comal Independent School District will be hosting a public meeting 6 p.m. Thursday, June 25, at the Support Services Building to discuss the school district’s budget which will determine the tax rate that will be adopted.

With approximately 950 entries from around the great state of Texas, this year's annual PTA Reflections contest brought out the best work from budding artists, writers, photographers and choreographers, and 17 Comal ISD students are being honored for their work.

A Canyon Lake High School SkillsUSA team won the Virtual Criminal Justice 2020 state championship title in a first-ever Zoom contest.

As scholarships begin to roll in for the senior class of 2020, one Smithson Valley High School senior found out that his Voice of Democracy audio-essay submission placed among the top 15 in the state.

One of the familiar faces students are missing these days is their school nurse. The one who takes care of that scrape from the playground; the one who takes their temperature when they are not feeling well; the one who makes sure they take their medication if needed; and so much more. Every day is a good day to thank them, but today, May 6, is National School Nurse Day.

Many traditions are being turned upside down these days, one of those traditions at Comal ISD is honoring the top academic seniors along with their mentors at a special banquet. On May 1, this year's virtual banquet was revealed.
